WW5 Concert

WW5 is a new woodwind quintet with a dynamic and colorful sound.  The group’s five members are all accomplished musicians with the skill and passion to create stunning performances.  Together, they achieve an amazing range of sounds, from soft sighs to thrilling runs, as the instruments recombine to give new color and shading to each melody.

Grounded in the classic wind quintet repertoire of the 19th and 20th centuries, WW5 has a more contemporary sound featuring saxophone instead of the traditional horn.  With flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and bassoon, the quintet can reach brilliant technical heights and a beautiful range of tonal colors.  In addition to performing the classic repertoire, WW5 is dedicated to expanding the genre and exploring new possibilities.

Whether playing classics, new compositions, simple songs, or anything else, WW5 presents an exciting and engaging concert experience that takes the audience outside the sounds of everyday life and infuses the imagination with new shapes, colors, contrasts, and ideas.
